McCaskill and friends are depleting Harvard Hawley's campaign funds by constantly filing legal complaints against him:

McCaskill is a ruthless politician and should not be underrated.

Can you imagine how frustrating it is for Republicans to have all these Democratic senators sitting pretty in red states, while the only GOP senator that's entrenched in a blue state is Collins? Mike Castle might've been able to win reelection in 2014, but they blew that.

And even then, Maine isn't as blue as Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Indiana and West Virginia are red.

Do you think he would take significant support from Hawley after all his scandals? Or just 2-3% of the vote, similar to what third parties usually receive?

McCaskill comes out against the $12 Billion farm/tariff bailout, while Hawley backs it.

McCaskill Statement

Hawley Statement (Tweet)

So let me get this straight... if you're a Red State Democrat, the way to convince T***p voters to vote for you you is to confirm a SCOTUS nominee but not to support actual economic aid to those voters? Huh

Wrong thread. McCaskill voted against Gorsuch and will probably vote against Kavanaugh. And she opposes aid to fix a self-inflicted wounds. Haven't most farmers associations come out against the 12 billions $ aid?

I'm now back to giving Hawley the narrow edge.

Because of one republican internal?

Anyone who cares enough about Kavanaugh's nomination process had already made up their mind anyway.

Wow, Claire wont vote for a man whos having a sexual assault charge, how terrible. Its not like polling has shown that voting for Kavenaugh would be worse for her than voting for him. Yeah, this is a likely R race now, Bagel is right, as always. /s

I said Lean R and you know it.

Nah, its definitely likely R, Bagel, for once you may be incorrect. You see, even though Claire has lead in polling, fundraising, and has the advantage, the court seat that Democrats care more about than Republicans will juice up turnout for Rs, causing Claire to lose, cause she didnt win that one Conservative, Trump supporting Republican who was "undecided". We should just swear in Hawley now, saves the trouble of counting votes. /s

You know I'm not thinking that, I am now thinking Hawley wins by 2-3 points, which is a perfectly reasonable prediction.

Hawley might end up winning by 2-3 points but if he does, it won't be because of Kavanaugh.

If Hawley is pulling ahead- I think its unfortunate... McCaskill strikes me as worlds ahead of Hawley regarding what the Senate needs and who would ultimately be the best for Missouri overall... (And I've just always liked McCaskill for her political savvy).

McCaskill winning is the single Senate result I want most. Which means she’ll probably lose since we can’t have nice things

Honestly, it's probably a better move for him to cancel on an appearance. The story of him canceling will get least traction than him having to talk about the office/staff issue would have had.
