RFK as a third party will probably get more attention for his outlandish platforn, and any tepid Democrats will recognize for sure that he isn't worth supporting.

I could see him winning more Trumpy voters, but I still doubt he ends up with much of an impact in the end.

This would probably take more votes from Trump than Biden. That being said, the impact will be negligible unless the race is really close. Which, considering the last two presidential elections, is a strong possibility.

If SnowLabrador is saying this, RFK running as an Independent basically guarantees Biden's re-election.

I disagree. I mean yeah he may take some votes from Trump who would go for him otherwise,  but he's still getting 15% among democrats within the Democratic party, he has the Kennedy name and don't forget many independents could go for him and Biden carried them in 2020. I think he def hurts Biden more than Trump. Trump's base is a lot more locked in to vote for him than Biden voters are to vote for him. Biden is on the border of not having enough support to run right now and his support is paper thin in strength. His approval is high 30s. RFK Jr. has the chance to get Perot like numbers.
90% of that 15% probably can't even name a single one of RFK Jr's policy positions. Most of his support comes from the "anyone but Biden" crowd

Not to mention that RFK Jr. as an Independent bid would attract more attention and his conspiracy-mongering would probably be a turn-off to most tepid Biden voters.

RFK Jr. Has said some antisemitic comments too, maybe this was a bad time for him to announce. There is value in that though because maybe any anti-Trump voter who is even remotely considering voting for him will see who he truly is.

No matter what, this complicates the next season of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm.'

If Junior and Trump want to try and spat over who will out-conspiracy who, I welcome them to keep it up throughout the general election.

this is the latest ballot access for the green party/jill stein. the yellow states' window for petitioning hasnt opened yet. oklahoma is the infamously difficult state requiring either 35k signatures or a $35k filing fee. jill is also slowly but surely on her way to matching funds (she needs $5,000 in small donations from 20 states; she has met that in 6 states already and the next 13 are all over $2,500)

Her map only shows 19 states + DC with ballot access, not 20 as she claims ...

She's senile!

From sports news, but looks like RFK jr wants Aaron Rodgers or Jesse Ventura as a VP candidate.

So stupid...

Okay, well, good luck for him trying to take back the GOP.

Anyway, what does No Labels do now? Endorse Kennedy? Crossnominate Biden?

If RFK does pick Scott Brown then they should definitely nominate this cross-party ticket

https://www.ettingermentum.news/p/the-official-rfk-jr-vp-tier-list

Rob Schneider is... a VP contender? A herp de derp de deedly derp, rated PG-13.

Rob's an anti-vaxx nut now (and also into other issues like being anti-trans), and he's kissed RFK's ring

lmao was the rumor that he was in the running entirely based on this unsourced tweet using a slightly-related image (from a Kennedy '24 fundraiser in Brentwood last June)

This is the first time I ever laughed at something Rob Schneider said.

Doesn't he realize this could have the opposite effect?

Drew Carey just went viral, make him unity nominee for Libertarian Party now!!!

Carey apparently supported Biden in 2020. Not sure if he'll do it again, but his priorities seem different than in his younger, more overtly libertarian days.

So, Kennedy was behind this ordeal? Makes sense.

RFK Jr is so unpopular, even RFK Jr is going after him:

Is this supposed to be like a Jimmy Kimmel mean tweets segment?

It's clearly supposed to be a populist "the establishment is pressed about me because they're terrified of my big brain ideas" appeal

Right, that would make sense.

It was never going to be a good crowd for Trump. Libertarian Party convention delegates are full of the real Libertarian true believers. Real idiot types. It would be like Biden speaking at a Green Party convention.

There are many types of idiots with political preferences, Trump seems to have discovered here that not all of them are automatically his type of idiots.

That honestly might be a good move considering that Biden, RFK, and Trump are probably seen as all being too pro-Israel.
