The Taxation Adjustment Act is a bill that tries to combat the climate and ecological crisis affecting our blue marble the best it can. By having a tiered tax rate on fossil fuel consumption, it most appropriately impacts all Lincoln residents in the same way as their wallet feels as, so as to avoid the regressive system that launched the Yellow Vest Movement in France.

I do hope that, previous to the final decision on this prospective act, a full financial overview is done by the GMs so as to show the full ramifications of this piece.

I support the call for a referendum on this bill. Clearly the direct impact involved to the public of Lincoln deserves to have its final say by the people.

AYE, If I may approach the council for the last time on this matter; this bill has a lot of implications and nuance. From its revolutionary approach to tackling the issue of climate change, it nonetheless is attacked from all angles. From issues with the budget, to supposed “fairness” to those that are at a higher income, this bill affects the public in a heavy manner. So my proposal is to let the people decide in a referendum, as intended with such a bill.
