Someone on Discord posted a description of the current state of polling as saying that the median American position is "Give the protesters most of what they want, but also have the police crack the protesters' skulls open. Also have the police crack the counterprotesters' skulls open."

This summary seems largely accurate?

Broadly speaking, I think the entire conflict just makes most people very sad and they don’t like thinking about it.
