I have a love-hate relationship with the concept of world evangelization.  While, as a Christian, I want people to come to know Christ -- I also have seen so many horrendous examples of western Christian missionaries working harder to make "little Americans" or "little Englishmen" of the people they sometimes referred to as "savages".

But some missionaries did it right.  Here is one of my heroes...

I just like that he was willing to adopt Chinese dress and even had his hair cut into a Chinese "Q" (I don't know the spelling) like many of the men.  That really put a lot of proper American and European folks off, but I find it really offensive when missionaries come into another culture and ask them to adapt to OUR standards.
