I am required to hope that Bayern at least draw in Manchester (so that it doesn't matter at all what Napoli does.) I hope you understand that this is a major sacrifice. Tongue

They better go up by about three goals before half so that I'm not even more anxious.
How about Napoli do that. That would do the trick just as surely.

Yeah. Not that I'd root for Lyon usually here, but that was quite the task they had there.

All I need for happiness is a goal by Trabzon. Both for my nerves, and for CSCA to go to the UEFA cup and some big league side I don't have a particular opinion on (and thus the default setting is "die") to go out.

2-0 Basel. ManU surely can't find a way back now.

CSCA are up. That puts them into 2nd spot, Trabzon into 3rd. Sad

The Anglo-Italian doubleheader don't sound so dull, though.

Americans are the only people in the world who use insult their sports leagues that way (God knows other countries have found other ways to do so). You're free to continue of course, but leave other people's leagues out of it.

Heh. After 22 minutes we went up 2-1 (after being down 0-1 after 5 minutes, after having a goal cancelled for offside. Probably correctly, though what do I know? I've only seen it live in the stands), and I joked that it's freezing cold, we got the result we need, someone blow a final whistle already.
I was right. Nothing much happened during the remainder of the game.

Arsenal without Arsčne would just be weird. I never knew it. I knew Wenger, when, once upon a time, he was in Monaco though, and then moved to London, and brought all those good Monaco players with him (Henry and Petit for those I remind of). Maybe he should consider do the travel back, Monaco (which used to be in the top French clubs in the 90s) being...19th of...L2 now (yay!).
If that's where Arsenal will be 15 years after his demission... it has my approval.

What are the chances of a Basel upset today against Bayern ?
Not high, but not impossible either. Let's hope for the best.

Who knows. Bayern seem to be struggling right now. Heck, they seem to be struggling all season whenever they aren't up 2-0 at halftime.

I just think it's hilarious that it's not at all unrealistic at this point that the quaterfinals has more Cypriot teams than either English or German teams.
...combined. I certainly hope so.

RIP Timo Konietzka, who among other things scored the very first Bundesliga goal.

I think that makes the first otherwise prominent man I know of to commit legal physician-assisted suicide (Konietzka was living in Switzerland as a retiree).
