I will be releasing a campaign platform and going more indepth with my proposals as the campaign goes along.  However now I'd just like to introduce myself and my resume within Atlasia to those who do not know me here, the newcomers to Atlasia.  I have served in many roles within Atlasia including:

-I first served as the eleventh Governor of the Mideast region, serving two terms between September 2007 and May 2008.
-I then served as campaign manager of the Sensei/Meeker ticket.
-Following this I was appointed as the Seventh Superior Court Judge of the Mideast.
-I then won election on the first Mideast Assembly, becoming the very first Speaker of the Mideast region.
-Following the completion of two terms as Speaker of the Mideast Assembly I ran for and won a seat in the Atlasian Assembly, representing the Mideast Asembly.  I would serve between the 28th and 31st Senates, serving as President Pro Tempore of the 30th Senate and Dean of the 31st.
-Following that I would serve as the tenth Secretary of External Affairs.
-I also ran twice for Vice President, first with PiT and again with Bacon King, narrowly losing both times.
-Following my attempts at national political service I once again returned to my bread and butter, Mideast regional government.  I served with the 11th through 13th Assemblies, serving as Speaker of the 12th.

Soon I will also post for all to see some of the bills I have been most proud of in my serve to this great game.

The following are someof the bills which I passed as a member of the Senate and also helped to write as SOEA.  If anyone is interested in researching what they did simply look up the names in the Atlasia wiki, the same for the regional bills I passed.

Federal Bills:

End to Eastern European Defense Shield Act
Somaliland Recognition Act
Malaysian Free Trade Renegotiation Act
Free Trade Regulation Act
The Labor Rights Act
Atlasian Agriculture Reinvestment Act
SOEA Role Codification Act
Free Communications Act
Amendment to the SoEA Role Codification Act
2009 Foreign Policy Review Act
Global Treaty Organization Expansion Act 2
Colombian Assistance and Stability Act
Atlasian Dog Breed Equity Under the Law Act (Helped to write the original Mideastern Act)

Acts Within the Mideast:

Mideast Constitution Tenth Amendment
Mideast Anti Union Busting Statute
Mixed Parentage Act
Mideast Vehicle Procurement Act of 2008 Statute
Healthy Youth Act
Emergency Contraception Bill
Resolution on Mideast Assembly Leadership
The Mideast Dog Breed Equity Under the Law Act (Assisted in the writing of)

I also was one of the first to call for the passing of a Mideast regional budget, actually authoring such a bill, though it was never passed due to my term as an Assembly member running out.  I will within the coming days post on what sort of bills I plan to introduce upon my election to the Senate, should I be so elected.

I hope to bring foreign policy back into the forefront of Federal policy should I be elected as Senator, along with the aid of the GM and the SOEA.  This would be through various bills, particularly returning to my focus on issues of military spending and international trade.  For far too long Atlasia has been focused wholly inward and I feel that the time has come for Atlasia to look on the outside of itself to make a real international difference.  With the current GM I hope we can have one who will be active in posting regarding international affairs.  Thank you everyone.

Though it seems many think I will lose this election, I will push on with the aim of returning to my old Senate seat to do what must be done to help bring Atlasia forward.

Would you support legislation abolishing the office of SOIA?

I would be open to the possiblity, I don't know one way or the other but I have certainly noticed that the office has not been effectively utilized in the past.  I'd first look into trying to make the post more useful and if I could not find a way to do so I would likely look to abolishing it.

Please anyone who still can vote come out and support me for Mideast Senate.  I only need two votes right now to win this election and I can assure everyone that I will do my best to represent all of my constituents whatever their ideological or partisan views.

I have presently authored a bill that I have submitted to the Senate and am considering a few institutional changes to the Senate including the possibility of creating Committees within the Chamber (Probably 3 Committees) and also the possibility of creating a second committee within the Senate which will essentially be a minority leader, prompting a bit more partisanship in the Senate hopefully which will make it more interesting.  Though sadly it may force me to caucus with one side Wink

I would just like to congratulate the winners of this month's Senate elections.  I am happy to be able to continue working with Senators Duke and Bacon King.  I'd also like to congratulate Senators Antonio and Lief on making their return.  Though I do not know him particularly well I'd also like to give Dallasfan a welcome to the Atlasian Senate.  Now fellows let us continue the work that has been done so well in recent months.  If any of you would like to work together on any bills please let me know.

As always I'd like to leave my office open to any sort of constituent concerns, if anyone needs anything in terms of bill introductions, or wants to give me input on any bills I am always available.  Thank you.

Hello everyone I'd just like to now share a few reasons why I feel I should be returned once again to the Senate by my region.  I know with a strong opponent and a partisan makeup that makes it pretty hard for me to win in the region that I am facing an uphill battle, however to put it simply I very much hope that the people of this region shall see fit and have faith in me to return me to the Senate for another term.

One of the most important reasons is that during this past term I have proven to be one of the most active Senators within the chamber, continuously writing my own bills and helping others with theirs.   I have also throughtout my term shown myself to be a prominent, moderate voice of compromise.  I did not exclusively vote for either side and did in fact vote for North Carolina Yankee as the President Pro Tempore despite the fact that most of the liberals in the chamber supported Bacon King.  To put it simply this was because I knew NCY was the best man for the job.  In addition to these points I have also tried to do what was best for the region, specifically working with Governor Tmthforu to write our section of the stimulus bill which include my own pet project of a rural roads program which I would seek to expand if I am in fact granted a second term.  I truly hope that this region will once again send me back to the Senate again because to put it simply, I have done what I think is the best job that can be done by a Mideast Senator.  Thank you everyone.

Thank you for voting against the Progressive Taxation Act.

What do you think your biggest accomplishment of your term has been?

During this term I'd say something I've been quite proud of was my work on the Kudzu Eradication Bill which eventually would become a general invasive plant species bill through various amendments.  It might not seem like much to some people however Kudzu and plants like it cost Atlasian farmers millions of dollars every year and getting rid fo them will I think be a huge boon to the Atlasian agricultural industry.

In terms of the time total that I have spent in the Senate I would say my work on codifying the role of the SOEA is something I can truly be proud of.  I am certainly someone who believes foreign policy should play a significant role in this game.  Thats why External Affairs will be something I'm really planning to focus in on in my next term should I in fact be reelected.

Everyone I'd just like to make one of what is likely my last appeals in anticipation of the election that will soon be coming.  However before I do make this appeal I would like to thank Junkie for running a good clean campaign.  I think the two of us have shown there is some civility still left in Atlasian politics and should he best me I will be proud to go down to so capable an up and comer.  Also should I lose I promise I will remain an active member of this game, rather than getting upset and proclaiming my disdain for it as many older members so often do.  In this time of change in the game I think it is important for at least a few of us old hands to be around to carry on and I am proud for the time I have spent doing all I can to make this game a better place.

Nonetheless I am still in it to win it and I aim to do so.  Should I be reelected as Senator I promise to carry on with my moderate and bipartisan spirit as I think I have shown in my time here in Atlasia and in my time as a Senator specifically.  I have voted for and against bills from across the ideological spectrum and have voted for and supported candidates in much the same way because I go with what I feel is best for the future of this game.

I hope should I be reelected to work once again on agricultural reform as I did in my very first term in the Senate.  Should Tmth be elected President as I hope he does, he has said he will actively participate in foreign policy which I myself have always been an active participant in and which I am to be once again in my next term.  Another legislative goal is to work on expanding the rural roads program I set forth for our fair region in the stimulus bill and making it a national program.  I believe that improving and providing rural communities with transportation is something which can only strengthen their job and education oppurtunities.  Now these will not be the only things I hope to legislate on should I be reelected however they will be my initial focus.

Thank you all for your time and I hope if you have any questions for me that you will simply ask them of me and I will be happy to answer them.

My lord all of you thank you so much for returning me once again to the Atlasian Senate.  To be honest a week ago I felt that Junkie had this race won, however I was determined to keep the Mideast Senate Seat that I have loved so much in my time here.  I promise that I will make all those who voted for me, and all those who did not, proud to be represented by me.

I would also like to thank my opponent, Junkie who is certainly an up and comer not only in the region but in Atlasia.  I'd also like to congratulate the other winners, Bgwah, Rowan, Kalwejt, and NCY.  All of them worked hard for their wins and will do quite well in the Senate.  Finally I'd like to congratulate my old friend Tmth, you did it buddy and I am proud to have supported your bid for the Presidency.  Now is the time to move on from the election and to the task of legislating.  Thank you everyone, for everything.
