I think both sides benefited from the merger. I'm happy with how things turned out. We're the first party to win a Presidential election without forming a unity ticket with another party in a long time.

It may not have been a unity ticket de jure, but it was a de facto SDP-JCP unity ticket.

The party structure in Atlasia changes so frequently that such an analysis is silly. Lief was a member of the PLP for a while before being in the SDP (and IIRC was an Independent as well) and Bacon King used to be a member of the NLC. But those parties, just like the SDP, collapsed and changed.
