The jokester Satanists embrace LaVeyan Satanism. The people I know of who identify as Theistic Satanists tend to be a legitimately terrifying bunch.
you know Theistic Satanists? I've always just kind of assumed Satanists (or any stripe) were like Flat Earthers (of any stripe), most of 'em were just doing it for the yuks with a tiny fraction of mentally ill true believers, very thin on the ground. I don't think I've ever met someone who claimed to be a flat earther and it's been a long time since I've run into someone claiming to be a Satanist and all of them were just trolling Christians/other religious folk as far as I could tell....but I don't get out much.
