My parents voted for Trump and are evangelicals.
My sister and her husband are union Democrats.
Here I am stuck in the middle saying, "well, no, that's wrong.  He admitted to dating high school girls when he was in his 30s.....no, I know it's not illegal, but what the hell does that have to do with whether it's ok or not?  Are only things that are illegal wrong?  Would you want a 35 year old dating your 15 year old daughter?  There ya go.  It doesn't matter anyway, the voters of Alabama will decide......stop laughing sis, what programs should the state of IL cease doing to pay for your ridiculous pension?....oh yeah?...you think that will be enough?  I don't either, what else?  Don't get mad 'cause your wrong.  These pensions are going to kill people, yeah, I know you were promised, I know you think you sacrificed higher pay checks for these future promises, but did you really?  The people that agreed to the pensions knew they'd be long gone when the ducks came back, so they didn't care about future promises, they just needed you to get back to teaching, those tax payers 30 years from then will have plenty of extra money to give you....except the 30 years are up, the pensioners are wanting their money and there is no money to give out, it's got to come from somewhere.  Sure, maybe raising the taxes on the rich some more will fix the problem.  I think it won't and will just make more money leave the state, but you can keep trying that if you want."
