what are the closest businesses (and other non-residential buildings) to you?

I like Nebraska and Omaha, and I like the neighborhood I live in, but for whatever reason, the closest handful of businesses to my house are super embarrassing.  Here are the closest handful to me

1.McDonalds
2.generic local bank
3.Adam and Eve sex shop
4.Dennys
5.local, non chain auto glass repair shop
6.Motel 6
7.Dollar Tree
8.Family Dollar (these are next to each other!)

It becomes more normal after that (coffee shops, better places to eat, etc), but there is a country bar called "Red Necks" close by too.  I live in a fairly middle class part of the city, there are certainly far worse places, but the closest handful of businesses to me suck.  I suspect some of it is the central location and the direct access to the interstate.  But the next exit has much better shops and if you head south instead of north at my exit, it's not so bad (car dealerships, light industry, low traffic shops and gas stations).

That elevator you guys have in the Rathaus would NEVER fly here in the US, because there would be lawsuits galore.  lol.  Still fun, though.  I rode it like 5 times.

a Paternoster lift?  I've always wanted to ride one.
