I've always seen Liberals--modern, post 60s Liberals--hold a lot of anger toward Neo-Conservatives and the ideology itself. But I don't see a big difference between Neo-Conservatism and pre 1970s Liberalism.
Consider:
"Big Government" Domestically-- Check (See Medicare Part D, for example)
Wilsonian Foreign policies-- Check (see Iraq)
Insistence on "traditional" values-- Check (see Neo-Cons on gay marriage; compare this to the Dixiecrats on matters of race and homosexuality)
New Deal Liberals=Neocons=Dixiecrats
did I get that right?
