You Scored as "Small L" libertarian

Small l libertarians are libertarians, usually of the minarchist variety, who do not particularly identify with the official Libertarian Party or are not active in it, or may even actively oppose it. Small l libertarians are likely to view the Libertarian Party as moving in too moderate of a direction. Small l libertarian may tend to be more radical than many official Libertarian Party members. Crazy Heinlein Fantasy World

2 traditional, 8 liberties, 4 capitalist, -4 isolationist and 8 populist!

You've been reading too little news and too much Robert A. Heinlein. There's no real-world model for a society that's stubbornly patriarchal and enthusiastically militaristic, yet lacking in centralized authority and committed to personal freedom and tolerance of nonconformity. Even if such a thing had ever existed, this probably isn't a social order that's going to attract broad popular support -- but you can dream, can't you?

?  I've never heard of this Heinlein fellow.

Ultra Liberalism
You scored 42Positive, 79 Negative!
You strongly believe in civil rights and the freedom to pursue your own ideals. You think that the government has not business at all in your life and you should be able to lead it however you like. The only function of the government should be to provide equality of opportunity for everybody to pursue their own way of life. To you, liberty is the freedom from coercion or limitation and the right to pursue on your own interests.

Mixed Market
38 Keynesian, 15 Chicago, 54 Austrian
You have some knowledge of economics, but believe the freemarket is unstable and/or unfair. You would make a good economics bureaucrat in a stagnating social democracy somewhere. You aren't hostile to freedom, though, and likely just want to make sure the right, just, decisions are made. In addition, you have just enough of a twinge of the "Austrian School" that you likely see some economic freedom as necessary. You like a mixed market, you have a concern for equity, but you're no radical.

Gary Johnson: 92% (domestic policy, healthcare, social, foreign policy, immigration and science)
Jill Stein: 63% (foreign policy, immigration and science issues)
Virgil Goode: 60% (social and domestic policy issues)
Barack Obama: 58% (foreign policy, economic and immigration issues)
Mitt Romney: 57% (social issues)
Rocky Anderson: 52% (foreign policy issues)

social issues: Mitt Romney
healthcare: Gary Johnson
foreign policy: Jill Stein
domestic policy: Gary Johnson
immigration: Gary Johnson, Jill Stein, Barack Obama
science: Gary Johnson
the economy: Gary Johnson
the environment: Jill Stein

Virginia voters: 51%
American voters: 51%
Libertarian: 76%
Democrat: 67%
Green: 63%
Republican: 60%

kind of odd results sometimes when similar answers are categorized as opposite (for example, different ways of reforming social security, when really you could have more than one. It scores me as agreeing with both Obama and Johnson on social security but not with Romney lol)
I have no idea how I managed to agree with every political party at least 60% of the time but with the American people only by the barest of majorities. Guess I'm an out of touch elitsit Tongue

The Latte-sipping Liberal

69% Utilitarian, 35% Nationalist, 51% Liberal and 59% Individualist!

The Latte-sipping Liberal
You live in or near an urban area, don't you?  You probably think of the people who love God and country as rank idiots.  In fact, you aren't really much of a nationalist at all; but you transfer your nationalism into a firm conviction that your convictions are of perfect objectivity and describe exactly the real world, and anyone who doesn't believe them must either be lying or simply not as smart as you are.  You support democracy and a social safety net (but probably not large-scale wealth redistribution, as that would likely affect yourself).  You are similar to Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, and George McGovern.

hmm . . . objectivity in convictions? there's an oxymoron.
given the intro, I was expecting it to pick up on my opposition to the French Revolution

Anarchical Republican Freemarketeer

Radical-Conservative: 18
Republican - This includes a large bulk of modern-day American politicians, whether Republican or Democratic.  This includes values of basic racial equality but not necessarily affirmative action.  It's a strong rejection of racism and a strong embrace of democracy, but not into the social levelling or hyper-secularism of the democrat level.

Liberal-Populist: >30
Anarchist - While perhaps not supporting the total elimination and privatization of the state and police, an anarchist supports individual rights in virtually all conflicts between communities and individuals.  Many in the US Libertarian Party ascribe to this belief, but many anarchists also find their way into fringe groups or simply abstentionism.  A good rule of thumb for the anarchist level is that the only relations or acts that can be prohibited are those that initiate force and fraud - a view first famously summarized by Mill then enshrined into the non-aggression or zero aggression principle.

Capitalist-Socialist: 19
Free Marketeer - Accepting that the market is the fairest and most effective device for setting wages and prices, those in this category support freer trade, deregulation, privatization, market reforms, tax cuts and economic liberalization.  This category includes Reagan and most Republicans, tax cutters, free traders, and those seeking to shrink governemnt and encourage commerce and business.  They associate economic success with much less government interference, low inflation, easy access to trade and business creation, and wealth creation.

You are a Independent!
Political Label: Independent
Primary Ideology: Conservative
Party Affiliation: Republican

You lean in a conservative way on both social and economic matters, but not strongly in either case. You believe government has a role in handling the economy and moral issues but you tend to take a measured approach at fixing the problems.

You feel more at home in the Republican party.

People like you: John McCain, Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Earl Jones, Charles Barkley, Sylvester Stallone (LOL)

I think this is the first quiz I've done that's put me on the less socially permissive side.

I did a few "maybes" here, but anyways

Conservative/Progressive score: 8
You are a social moderate. You think the progressive movement is overall well meaning, but sometimes it goes too far. On issues like abortion and affirmative action, you see the negatives of both extremes on the issue. You probably value religion, but at the same time you think it should still stay separate from the government (not too far off overall)

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 3

You're a Capitalist Purist. You believe that the market should be completely free, and that the invisible hand of the market will make sure that the people get what they want and will do it in the most efficient way possible. You believe in small government, less taxes, and more privatization. (eh, I wouldn't call 3 out of 12 'purist 'Tongue)

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 1

You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism.(the dreaded 'f' word, but basically)

Pacifist/Militarist score: 3
You're a Pacifist. You are angered that the United States thinks it should dominate the world through its military force. You think that the only time war is necessary is when we are in direct danger of being attacked. You also believe the US spends way too much of its money on defense, as we can practically cut it in half and still easily defend ourselves, and use that money to fix all our economic problems. (a bit more absolutist than my position but even so that's still not really pacifist)

Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Libertarian

Social Issues: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal
Personal Responsibility: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal
Fiscal Issues: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal
Ethics: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal
Defense and Crime: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

You Are a Capitalist Republican

Money makes your world go round - and it's no surprise that you always vote your wallet. (no)
You're financially successful (or plan to be), and your agenda is low tax and pro business. (not especially, yes)
You don't get fired up about abortion... but mention capital gains tax, and you go crazy. (no, yes lol)
You want government to be as small as possible - and to stay out of the way of business. (pretty much)

Social Issues: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

Personal Responsibility: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

Fiscal Issues: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

Ethics: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

I looked over my answers and can't figure out which social issue its counting me as conservative on- I don't think I have a single value that could be considered socially conservative. I'm definitely more socially liberal than shua, I think.

some of the issues often considered social issues are in other categories. apparently each category has 4 questions in secession - so one of the questions in the first four you must have given an answer it interpreted as conservative.  on the environment or education questions I could have answered either way.

Political Values

Radicalism   61
Socialism   6.25
Tenderness   84.375

These scores indicate that you are a very tender-minded moderate progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with an animal rights activist. It appears that you are moderate towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear laissez-faire capitalist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as libertarian.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a devoted egalitarian with several strong opinions.

This concludes our analysis; we hope you found your results accurate, useful, and interesting.

Balanced Freedom

46 Keynesian, 23 Chicago, 46 Austrian
You are in favor of a free market, and quite a bit of individual freedom. That said, you don't really fit in any one school of thought. A little Keynesianism, a little Chicago School methods, and a bit of Austrianism all sprinkled around. You just know you want a working market, and you support it, but you have no consistent methodology guiding you.

http://helloquizzy.okcupid.com/results/the-economic-knowledge-and-values-test/?var_Beliefs=42&fromCGI=1

You are an AUSTRIAN ECONOMIST.

You believe in total economic liberty.

You think like a free-market economist. In your company are people like Frederic Bastiat, Ludwig von Mises, and Murray Rothbard.

The Austrian school continues the traditions of the classical school in promoting fullest economic liberty, but has developed their own theories of value, money, and the business cycle.

You might describe yourself with such terms as "laissez-faire", "libertarian", or even "free-market anarchist".

This relatively young, largely independent group holds a mix of conservative and liberal views. And while more lean toward the Republican Party than the Democratic Party, Young Outsiders generally express unfavorable opinions of both major parties. They are largely skeptical of activist government, as a substantial majority views government as wasteful and inefficient. Yet many diverge from the two conservative typology groups – Steadfast Conservatives and Business Conservatives – in their strong support for the environment and many liberal social policies.

5 Dimensional Political Compass

I am a Centrist Anarchist Non-Interventionist Humanist Moderate
Collectivism score: 0%
Authoritarianism score: -100%
Internationalism score: -17%
Tribalism score: -67%
Liberalism score: 0%

the quiz may be a bit biased toward economic Left/"Collectivist" answers - I probably ought to be "Right-leaning" rather than "Centrist" on the first dimension - but generally I like the sound of that description.

Lynchburg

I would definitely like to visit Tangier, though perhaps not live there.  It says only 20% consider climate change an immediate issue, which I have trouble believing given it is a barrier island and so sea level rise is a major issue.    Cloverdale might be nice for being near Roanoke and the Blue Ridge, but I'm pretty sure there are a number of other places in that area I'd like better.

euprofiler says Labour is to the right of Conservatives and even BNP! Meanwhile the Lib Dems are the most "socioeconomic left" of the the main parties. They must be stuck in Cleggmania mode.

the test is from 2009. They need to update it and make it more accurate. The charts, esp. the 7-dimensional polar coordinate system, are pretty cool.
