What do you think your first political post will be (or was)?

It's great to think about the kind of president one would make, but everyone starts somewhere. Sometimes its an elected office, sometimes its an appointed post. It can be local, county, state or (I expect rarely) national.

For myself, local historical preservation commissioner.

DNC Chairman, after a successful carer as a political consultant Wink

But in reality I'd love to be a state Senator and I think I could do some good Smiley

Doing good is the best motive, IMHO.

State senator is a difficult place to start unless you are going to be self-financed, or have big media name recognition. Most senators I know did a stint as a state House member first, or held a prominent county post.

Another political job I would like was to be Chairman of the Scott County Republican Party.
I serve as a precinct committeeman in our county organization.

The Young Republicans (ages 18-40) are another way to get involved with the county organization.

I am head of the Central High School Young Republicans Club.

We dedicate our time to rasing money with funny fundraisers and making fools out of the Young Democrats (all extreme feminists) in debates.

Last year our fundraisers were:

The Ice Cream Party for Life (Anti-Abortion Fund Raiser)

The John Kerry Flip-Flops and Waffles Breakfast (You get the joke)

It sounds like you are off to a great start!!
