Well, it looks like Brown who didn't get a primary challenge should of gotton one, he wasn't the safe bet Dems were looking for after all.

Who else do you think would have done better?

     Feinstein, though she might not have wanted another executive office after her miserable experience as Mayor of San Francisco, where she faced a serious recall attempt. Newsom would be steamrolled by Whitman. I am not sure about Villaraigosa, but no way he would be doing better than Jerry Brown.
