Start talking, Ben/Nixy! Also, Speed, Scott and Tmth can chime in here as well.

Also, should I double barrel UC this through?

Only the PPT is authorized to make that request. Tongue

You also only did half of it, which is why I said double barrelled UC request. The way you did it, the cloture would still be in effect. Tongue

I ask unanimous consent to waive the mandatory 72 hour minimum debate time and the cloture requirement on bills currently in debate to proceed immediately to a final vote. Senators have 24 hours to object.

Can you dig it? Tongue

I was gonna do tihs last night, but I couldn't get back on after I went off to get my shower and stuff. Line was occupied.

Hurry up, slow down, make up your minds. Tongue

If we objected the UC request, offered an amendment, processed the amendment, gave 24 hours for passage, declared it passed, that could take two days. If no one comments on the text of the bill during that 24 hour objection time on the amendment, I could open a final vote right then and there. But everyone would have to cooperate, agree on the amendment and then not discuss the content/merits of the bill during that amendment objection time. If that all goes as planned, then probably your looking a two day delay.

Governor, if it helps some guy on Staten Island, I think it is a bridge worth crossing; however, unsavory or unfortunate that it may be. Don't you agree?

We can hang shua later for the innefficiency if deemed appropriate.

Reserving the right to object temporarily (I can withdraw this later, its just so that we can discuss this beyond the time expiration).

Since that sum is so large and the current text is too small, perhaps and if everyone agrees to this, we can leave it as the current text, pass it and get the money to start flowing nad then immediately begin debating a supplementary Relief bill in the same emergency slot where we could then settle the final amount?

How does that sound?

The best way to do that thne would be for Ben to withdraw his amendment, modify it into a supplementary package and offer it. I can then put in this smae slot as soon as this one passes.

What is offering a supplementary package?

Another bill that appropriates more money. Say we pass the bill as is without your amendement, you could then come back and offer a bill with $20 billion (for a total of 25) or 45 (for a total of 50) for relief efforts? Clear?

I can have on the floor as soon as you post it in the introductory thread.
