JFK once ponder how our young small nation had three of the greatest minds of the 18th century. He went on the name them Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Alexander Hamilton.
I believe Hamilton should be up with Adam Smith as one of the founders of modern economics thought. We are lucky he was never President because he believed corruption was the lubricant that made government work. He did spy for the British while he was in government but he did save our nation financially, while lining his pockets.
I could go with Washington adored him and that's good enough for me.
