Despite being an accomplished legislator with a sharp mind and more brilliant policy plans than any other candidate running, Michael Bennet is receiving little to no media coverage.
He has been blacklisted from the debates.
He's hardly even mentioned in lists of candidates anymore.
Is the unspoken label of Bennet as a candidate with no chance nothing more than a self-fulfilling prophecy, or is there something more sinister going on? Bennet's plans include a lifetime ban on politicians from ever becoming lobbyists and a plan to stop members of Congress from taking money from lobbyists while they are in legislative session; it's not hard to see why career politicians might have a problem with this.
So are the political elite conspiring to keep Bennet out of the White House? I think they very well might be.
As someone who has donated $1 to the Bennet campaign, the answer to your question is "no." Bennet is not getting media attention because he joined too late and does not distinguish himself from the rest of the field. If it was 1988 or 2004, Bennet would be the favorite.
