As JK Rowling wrote in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", there comes a time when we must choose between what is right, and what is easy.

For Republicans office-holders that time is about to come.

Question is: will GOP stalwarts actually campaign against their own nominee?

More likely they will sit it out like Romney Sr. and Nelson Rockefeller did in 1964.

Kinzinger on CNN: I can’t see how I’d support him. I put my country above my party, any day of the week.

Tom Ridge says he won't vote for TRUMP.

I think you can safely add to the NeverTrumpers list Miami's Republican mayor, Tomas Regalado.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/30/us/politics/donald-trump-general-election-battleground.html?partner=rss&emc=rss&smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur&_r=1

Mr. Regalado, a former broadcast journalist, intends to sit out the presidential race. He considers Mrs. Clinton untrustworthy, but views Mr. Trump as a poisonous candidate who has aggravated racial divisions. In Miami, Mr. Regalado said, Mr. Trump is seen as “a bully, as a person who despises people that don’t look like him.”

Yeah, San Diego's Republican mayor is also #NeverTrump, as I mentioned earlier in the thread.  But I wasn't including mayors in the list in the OP, because where do you draw the line as to what's a significant enough city to bother including?  I'm open to adding them though if someone wants propose a standard re: which mayors govern cities big enough that they're worth including in the list.

The article also mentions that the mayor (I guess he is the equivalent of county executive) of Miami-Dade won't vote for Trump.

FWIW, Ted Cruz refused to answer yesterday whether he'll endorse Trump.
And according to his close advisers it's more possible than not that he will not endorse anyone.

Are we putting un-endorsements here? Mark Kirk just did the first.

Ohio state senator, who also happened to be a Kasich delegate at RNC, has some pretty strong words for TRUMP.

http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/politics/blogs/2016/06/09/anti-trump-warren-county-lawmaker-resigns-gop-convention-delegate/85639164/

Warren County's Shannon Jones, a state senator who has vocally opposed the candidacy of presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump, has resigned her spot as a delegate to the Republican convention in Cleveland next month.

"I'm not going to participate in this process. I'm just not going to participate in it," said Jones, of Clearcreek Township, who is running unopposed for Warren County commissioner this fall.

...

"If anything, I regret that I will not be able to be at the convention to vote against Donald Trump," McGregor said. "The dude's just whack.

McGregor said he isn't sure who he will vote for in the fall.

Don't know if Mr. Morden posted it but Larry Hogan becomes the third Republican governor who says that he won't vote for TRUMP.

Rick Snyder according to the reporters.

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/richard-armitage-endorses-clinton-224431

Richard Armitage, the deputy secretary of state under George W. Bush, says he will vote for Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump, in one of the most dramatic signs yet that Republican national security elites are rejecting their party’s presumptive nominee.
Armitage, a retired Navy officer who also served as an assistant secretary of defense under Ronald Reagan, is thought by Clinton aides to be the highest ranking former GOP national security official to openly support Clinton over Trump.

“If Donald Trump is the nominee, I would vote for Hillary Clinton,” Armitage told POLITICO in a brief interview. “He doesn't appear to be to be a Republican, he doesn't appear to want to learn about issues. So I’m going to vote for Mrs. Clinton.”

I'd like to hear from Mr. Morden too if today's interview of Kasich qualifies him as #NeverTrump.

Fred Upton is #NeverTrump.

http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2016/06/16/upton-endorsing-trump-train-track/85982354/

Republican U.S. Rep. Fred Upton says he is not planning to endorse Donald Trump for president, deepening the divide in Michigan’s GOP congressional delegation about supporting the party’s presumptive nominee.

“There’s a lot of things that folks are not happy about with either of these two candidates,” he said. “We’re running our own race, and don’t look for me to endorse anyone in this race probably the rest of the year.”

Upton, who has served in Congress since 1987, joins other Michigan GOP U.S. Reps. Justin Amash of Cascade Falls, Bill Huizenga of Zeeland and John Moolenaar of Midland in not endorsing Trump.

Eh....sorry to be a stickler on this, but "I won't endorse anyone this year" doesn't quite qualify, IMHO.  I've added him to the list in the OP, but under the category of "staying out of it", along with Bush 41, Bush 43, and Snyder.  #NeverTrump means you're not going to vote for him, and Upton saying that he won't publicly endorse anyone doesn't really tell me how (or if) he's going to vote.

Upton didn't just say that he won't endorse. He had harsh words for Trump and his campaign. Maybe he didn't explicitly say that he won't vote for him but that's not the attitude of someone who despite his misgivings would still pull the lever out of party loyalty.

Some of the others, like Romney, have called Trump “offensive”, and accused him of “targeting groups of people” or other such phrases that imply bigotry.  But Kirk might be the first one to use the r-word.

I think Reid Ribble also called Trump a racist.

David Valadao says he can't support Trump.

http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-sac-essential-politics-republican-in-heavily-latino-district-1466711716-htmlstory.html

"I am disappointed with the divisive rhetoric coming from this Presidential Election and cannot support either candidate. I cannot back a candidate who denigrates people based on their ethnicity, religion, or disabilities,"

Two prominent Wisconsin Republicans, one of them a former governor, quit from their delegate slots because they don't want to vote for TRUMP.

http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/conservative-leader-grebe-drops-delegate-slot-due-to-trump-b99754844z1-385233701.html

One of the most prominent figures in conservative and Republican circles, Michael Grebe, has given up his seat at next month's GOP convention, saying he wants no part of nominating Donald Trump.

Grebe is the outgoing president of the Milwaukee-based Bradley Foundation, a powerful funder of conservative ideas and groups. He served as campaign chairman to Gov. Scott Walker's gubernatorial races and his unsuccessful presidential bid, and is a former chairman of the state GOP. In addition, he is a former counsel to the Republican National Committee, and was the RNC member in charge of overseeing the party's 1996 national convention in San Diego.

"I declined to go to Cleveland and I gave up my delegate slot because I do not want to be part of a process which results in the nomination of Donald Trump," Grebe wrote in an email to the Journal Sentinel. He did not elaborate.

Grebe is not the only Wisconsin Republican who is skipping the convention because of Trump. So are two alternates in the Wisconsin delegation. Former Gov. Scott McCallum said in an interview Friday: "They need people that are going to be very enthusiastic for Donald Trump as props at the convention. You're supposed to stand and cheer and yell for him. At this point I do not have the capability of doing that."

To date, the only Republican politician I'm aware of who said he wouldn't vote for Trump and then sort of softened his position to "maybe" is Dean Heller.  But as of now, he's still opposed:

We're a couple of weeks out from the convention, and Trump has been the de facto nominee for two months now.  And not a single prominent #NeverTrumper has endorsed him.  What happened to the people saying that these folks were all going to fold any minute now?

To be fair some of them did initially, Rubio being the most egregious example.
It's a testament to Trump's toxicity that he pushed them back with his shenanigans.
