Pressley being a more established politician can be a double-edged sword.
Capuano is also an outspoken progressive and Pressley's campaign seems to be based more on a theme of "time for a change" than accusing him of some great apostasy or being out of touch with the district.

Seth Moulton was behind John Tierney by 40-50 points (including in 2 Emerson polls) 3 months before the primary. He didn’t have a great reason for primarying Tierney, but he still ended up winning by 10 points. Primaries advocating for generational change can be successful, just ask Moulton and Eric Swalwell.

I think Tierney had some ethics issues.

Exactly. I think some of his family members were convicted and that's why he almost lost to a Republican in 2012.

When I meant "AOC redux" I meant another DINO going down in a primary. Indeed, I would say that Pressley is better positioned to win than AOC was.

Capuano is a DINO?
Is this the real world?

So Pressley would be willing to sink a healthcare bill extending insurance to tens of millions of Americans?

Not a surprising statement. The Tea Partiers of the left can be as nihilistic as their right-wing counterparts.

It's pretty telling that our Massachusets posters are supporting Capuano while the out-of-staters are rabid Pressley fans.

Capuano was one of the good guys and it's regrettable that he was targeted by the alt-left while someone like Lynch got a free pass.
Pressley might be young and charismatic but doesn't seem ready for prime-time (just like AOC). I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

You cant just try to apply Right terms on the Left, especially when Pressley and Capuano didnt share any real policy difference.

That's exactly what made this race a waste of resources.
