Larry Pressler of South Dakota; liberal Republican in a not-so-liberal state.

And my personal favorite: Glen Taylor, firebrand progressive and Henry Wallace’s 1948 running mate was senator of Idaho

Just thought of another one: John Sherman Cooper.

Very liberal and anti-war Republican from Kentucky. Only voted with the republicans 51% of the time lol.

This guy held the same senate seat Mitch McConnell now has, and voted with Ted Kennedy and Wayne Morse on dozens of big bills.
