This Mississippi Democratic Party is such a joke. Even if Hood somehow wins, he'll have a Republican attorney general foiling him at every step, and a super Republican legislature overriding his vetoes.

There is virtually no chance the Democrats win any of the other statewide offices, and I doubt they have any impressive wins in legislative races either.

IHL process for hiring Ole Miss' chancellor appears to have backfired into a giant cluster, could become a big issue going into the November campaign.

Did either of the candidates have a hand in it, or even express an opinion either way?

This is a map of Hood's performance changed from his double-digit win in 2015 to his 6 point loss in 2019. The numbers are the rank in number of voters in 2019



Hood performed well enough in the large counties and college towns, actually overperforming his 2015 % in a few of them, but the Northeastern areas that had voted him in all those times for AG did not stick with him.
