The obsession with Palestine is reaching a whole new level.

Alec Baldwin Acosted

https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6GcKNtuV63/

That is borderline criminal.

Not more criminal than loading an unprepared automatic weapon on the set of a movie and killing a crew member, knowing you were 99% responsible for the murder. Baldwin should be sitting behind bars, not walking in the streets of New York.

One thing people on this thread don’t grapple with is that people only have limited time and energy to follow conflicts. Demanding that people give the same amount of energy to every conflict be it Gaza, Yemen, Myanmar, Sudan, etc. is not just unrealistic it’s cruel. Sympathy isn’t all of nothing.

The media coverage is a big part in why other conflicts are not generating the same amount of attention. Mainstream news in the States does not even give a inch of coverage to what's happening in Sudan. Al Jazeera English, a foreign news network, called it the forgotten war as I watched last Thursday. Israel/Palestine has been a hot bottom topic since the establishment of Israel in 1948. What we are seeing is the pro-Palestine movement has gained strength in the States, when it was off limits for many years to make even a sight criticism of Israel.  Bringing up other atrocities as a way to degrade those of us in solidarity with Palestine is a dishonest tactic. You might say the same about why Russia/Ukraine gets more coverage than Sudan but it's more fashionable to talk about that conflict than Israel/Palestine.

Speaking for my myself, not only would I be proud of my son/daughter for not only being able to get into Columbia, but I'd be even more proud that he/she was standing up for their oppressed brothers and sisters in Ghazzah as any Muslim should.

That would be the sign that I've raised them right by not only having academic excellence, but also a strong deen. Inshallah, his/her efforts, while not being rewarded in this world, and in this society, shall be rewarded where it truly matters. In the akhirah.

Would you be proud of your child if they were chanting "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" in full knowledge of the fact that it's a call for the eradication of Jews from Israel and originated in a terrorist group slogan whose Arabic form is "Palestine will be Arab" instead of "free"?

The right-wing Likud Party used the "from the river" for their slogan. You should condemened the party for using a genocidal of the Palestinian people! The chant had nothing to do with eradicating Jewish people, as detractors have claimed. What protestors mean when they say "from the river to the sea" the old system of Zionism, the occupation of Palestinian land that has gone on far too long for almost 76 years.

The children of Gaza are watching you, college students.  They are listening as casualties are still occurring in Gaza.

Jerry Seinfeld wife and Bill Ackman are funding the "counterprotests".  Where is the media outcry about this backing, after all the fearmonging about China or Russia funding the protest movement in America?

United Nations denounced violent police crackdown on student protestors in the US.

Quote
The United Nations has criticized the police crackdown on student protests in the United States.

Marta Hurtado, spokesperson for the U.N. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, told reporters: “We are troubled by a series of heavy-handed steps taken to disperse and dismantle protests across university campuses in the United States of America.  Freedom of expression and the right to peaceful assembly are fundamental to society, particularly when there is a sharp disagreement on major issues, as there are in relation to the conflict in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel.”

According the latest news reports:

In Richmond, Virginia, police deployed pepper spray on student protesters at Virginia Commonwealth University.  At least 13 arrests were reported.

In Louisiana, a police SWAT team raided an encampment at Tulane University early this morning, arresting at least 14 students.  The raid came hours after the school suspended five students and the school’s chapter of Students for a Democratic Society.

In Missouri, a history professor was hospitalized Saturday after police violently threw him to the pavement.  Steve Tamari, who teaches at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, was filming a protest at Washington University on his phone when he was attacked.  His wife, Sandra Tamari, who is Palestinian American, was arrested during the same protest.

Meanwhile, at Brown University, student protesters have voluntarily ended their encampment after school officials agreed to hold a vote on divesting from Israel.

Not going to link that grotesque clip of Dana Bush spouting lies about the protestors. Just read the words to read what gets said by the "objective" mainstream media.

CNN disgraceful propaganda.

Where's the condemnation from the press and politicians on the racism of the counter-protestors here?

I can't stress enough just how much >90% of employed people despise protests like this. The left has completely failed to appeal to working people and there seems to be no interest in fixing that.

These people aren't the left. These are extremist loons who have more in common with Alex Jones and David Duke than with any mainstream Democrat.

"Mainstream Democrats" are center-right to centrist. They are not on the left sphere, at least the way most of them feel about capitalism, where they continue to support the status quo in maintaining the system.

A lot of the protesters are covering their faces due to the McCarthyist atmosphere in America today. Assuming it's to evoke Hamas is pure bigotry.

McCarthyist is when hate crime prosecutions for terrorizing Jews.

Such as calling Jewish protestors "self-hating" and arresting a Jewish professor for protesting peacefully with fellow students.
