Looks like once again the Republicans and Democrats are falling over each other to prove which one better serves the interests of Israel over the United States.

I'm certainly no fan of Netanyahu's government or the occupation in general, but obviously Israel is not an enemy at war with the U.S.

Israel IS an enemy of the United States, and it has attacked us before on multiple occasions.

But, regardless, the Constitution's definition is not the only meaning of "treason".

Yeah, I know, it's anti-Semitic to not support the interests of the state of Israel over one's own country.

In the US, the President is not the "Government." Glen Greenwald and all the Israel-hating hacks didn't criticize Pelosi's trip to Syria when Bush was in office.

if your definition of "putting American interests first" = consistently siding against Israel, then yes.

If by "siding against Israel", you mean siding against one-sided favoritism that harms our own country's interests, then yes.

I think Cantor is dead wrong, but what he said was clearly within the bounds of accepted discourse.  (See American politicians openly siding with Britain before US involvement in both World Wars).

And what about American politicians siding with Nazi Germany over the U.S.? You would have been okay with them?

There's nothing treasonous about what Cantor said, and it's hilarious that some people think it is.

It is however, pretty terrible when a politician says he will support the interests of a foreign country over those of his own country.

The only reason people like Rahm Emmanuel or Eric Cantor are involved in American government, is because they can do a lot more for Israel by getting into elected office here, than they can by moving there.

that's not what Cantor said. that part was Greenwald's spin.   

Cantor's record of putting Israel over American interests speaks for itself. As do Obama's, Pelosi's, and 99% of Congresscritters' records.
