Let's enliven the primaries season with a new format.  Top eight presidential candidates go into a single-elimination tournament to win the nomination.

The parties can rough out the scheduling and delegate distribution, but let's go for the first round in February, second round in March, third round in April and the finals in May.

Were it to go today, we might see a Republican tournament seeded like this:

Trump vs Hutchinson
DeSantis vs Scott
Ramaswamy vs Christie
Haley vs Pence

Winners advance to the second round.  Losers are pledged to go home.

I'd pay to see Ramaswamy one-on-one with Christie.

At what level would a Trump win be considered a loss?  Sixty-forty?
