http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruth_Davidson So this is the new Scottish Conservative leader.

Is Scotland the only place where Women are doing so well in terms of top level positions? This is the second female Scottish Conservative leader in a row, as well the Deputy First Minister is female.

The current UK Conservatives are very progressive. If I was in the UK I'd back them.

Slightly more seriously, yes the Tories do generally seem to have put their Section 28 past behind them.  But I don't see what's "progressive" about them on any other issues.
You need to look no further than Canada to see how bad a Conservative government can be.

By UK Conservative Party and Coalition Government, I mean David Cameron. Perhaps it's a Canadian thing to refer to the PM as such.

Cameron is Pro Gay
Harper would ban gayness if he could

Cameron has stated that he intends to be "Progressive"
Harper would rather lose his balls then ever, ever, say "Progressive" (unless he was using it as an insult)
