'Probably a bit easier than my Louisiana Quiz

1- How many counties does WV have?
2- What classes are its Senators from?
3- Over the past 20 years, what was the most lopsided Senate race? The closest?
4- Who was its last Republican Senator? Governor?
5- How many years did Senator Robert Byrd serve in the Senate? How many in the House?
6- What area did Byrd represent while in the House?
7- When did Jay Rockefeller serve as Governor?
8- True or False: Outside of his native GA (and DC), WV was Carter's best state in 1980.
9- What percent of WV voters are registered Democrats? Republicans?
10- Who preceded Byrd in the Senate? Rockefeller?
11- True or False: Every 20th Century Democratic President carried WV at least once.

"Bonus"
12- On what day did the Good Lord take Senator Byrd? How old was he?
13- What was the name of his wife?

Okay, I'll bite for a few.

2: Manchin is Class 1, Rockefeller is Class 2

3: Manchin in 2010 was probably the closest, and I think Bryd's 2000 win was the biggest

4: I think Revercomb was the last R senator, since he lost his seat in a general instead of a special election.

5: 6 in the house, 50 and a half in the Senate

7: '77-'85

8: False, I think Rhode Island was his (2nd) best state

9: I'll guess 55-30 Democratic

10:Revecomb and Randolph, respectively

11: False--Bush Sr lost it both times (and Ford never won it)

2: Correct

3: Correct. 2010 was the closest at Manchin +10.; 2000 was the most lopsided at Byrd +58.

4: Correct.

5: Correct.

7: Correct

8: Actually, its true. Carter got 47.6% in RI but 49.8% in WV.

9: Pretty close. Last I checked, it was about 56-28 Democratic.

10: Correct

11: It is false, but not for that reason.
