I really like districts 39 and 46; they look good for Blue Dogs.
I figured you'd like those two. Wink Region 47 is another one that a Blue Dog could do well in. The average includes Lugar numbers which really pushes the numbers toward the Republicans.

That's a democrat jerrymander. Plus I wouldn't call it Birch Bayh. He got Quayleslid.  It'd be better to call it Otis Bowen. Or even naming it after Lugar.

How about Eugene Debs? Wink

I would put President Benjamin Harrison. This fits more with Indiana.

Good choice! I made that change. I also went back and changed the James Brown region to the President Jimmy Carter region.

Ah, 60... nice name with Abe Lincoln, but it most definitely won't suit my politics.

Yeah, Southern Illinois kind of got up in my Midwest "Let's see what's left over district." I have one other district that is like that out west. I also thought it was cool that the district named after Honest Abe has 2 Northern states, 2 Border states and 2 Confederate states.

Wow at 53! I'm not sure how I feel about it; its certainly interesting though. Culturally, I think NOLA would be a bit out of place, but if you're aiming to get the black population up, it makes sense. Mary Landrieu could probably hold it against a primary challenger; her dad helped to desegregate NOLA, so black voters have always been loyal to the Landrieus.

I can see the cultural issue, but I really felt like African American's deserved at least 2 districts in the South. So that was my goal with this region and the inter-city Atlanta region. I have a few ideas on what I want to do with the primary election in this region.
