Both would have to have near bald running-mates to ballance the hair line, and both would need translators to tell Americans what their latest platitude meant. I guess that Edwards/Biden would defeat Romney/Thompson in one of the more bland elections in our nation's history. Romney reminds me of Thomas Dewey, an urbane, eastern, governor who talks in platudes, and Edwards reminds me of William Bryan, an overly oratorical fellow who speaks in his own platitudes about the "everyman."
As I said, Edwards would defeat Romney, not really because of the ideas he espoused, but because Romney's almost perfectly staged personality would put off enough voters and because one can only take a party in the White House for so long, and the people seem upset with the Republicans. Not the greatest reasons to win the Oval Office, but such is life.
