McCain made his money the old fashioned way  --  he married it!

Oh, and why won't Obama help support his impoverished half-brother?

Because in McCain's ads, he says things like..."In this tough economy, Barack Obama wants to raise taxes, wasting your paycheck and hurting our families."

I'm pretty sure Obama could raise taxes a billion dollars and McCain would be fine. He adds we and our in just like Bush did in 2000-2004 to connect to people even when he has 0 in common with them.

You really don't understand

McCain imagines himself to be an absolute monarch, hence the imperious "we" and "our."

Oh, and why won't Obama help support his impoverished half-brother?

Maybe for the same reason that "only child" Cindy doesn't support her half-sisters.

Oh, well its nice of you to provide that explanation.

I had never though of Obama as the kind of person Cindy McCain is, but now you've lowered my evaluation of him.  Does he use and steal drugs as well?  Oh, and does Cindy's sisters live on less than a dollar a month?  Perhaps you could name them and tell me about the huts they live in.

That's the point, though--most people don't financially support half-siblings they barely know. No one cares about it.

So, you're not saying that Cindy McCain's two half-sisters need financial support, merely that she is not providing financial support to them.

However, are you saying that Obama's half brother does not need financial support?

Oh, and to me someone who claims to "care," about the well-being of the American voters, but doesn't "care" about the well being of a sibling seems a little, er, fraudulent.

It seems to me there's nothing wrong with being rich, or are you asserting there is something wrong with being rich?

Finally, both the Obamas and McCains are well-off (financially) and neither relates to the concerns of the average American.

Whenever I hear someone blame the media for favouritism or bias I just want to shake them and scream 'YOU'VE GOT IT BACKWARDS!'

The media is a lens and information can pass through it in different directions, but distortions like 'favouritsm' and 'bias' are rare. What's not rare is the ability of certain people to position themselves so that they project a certain persona that the media's lens amplifies. When McCain first emerged he garnered popular press because he fashioned himself as a popular figure. He had the underdog, maverick persona that makes for good television. The media wasn't playing favourites, McCain was making himself into the darling of the race. Obama's done the same thing, albeit with a different persona. His is more of the transformational change and momentum of history style, but the projection to the media is still essentially the same: a good story that plays well on the air.

Sorry CP, but you are totally wrong.

When McCain was attacking Republicans and conservatives, the liberal media (ABC/CBS/NBC/New York Times/Washington Post/Chicago Tribune/Los Angeles Times/Time/Newsweek, etc.) all loved him.  The people didn't, and he lost the Republican nomination in 2000.

When Obama secured the nomination this year, since he is both to the left of McCain (which means really far out to the left) and black, they are supporting Obama and began dissing McCain.

This is not a simple matter of misperceptions, as you alledge, but rather cold hard facts.  Even some members of the liberal media admit that they have gone way overboard with Obamamania.

One of the nice things is that the dinosaur (liberal) media has less and less impact on the elections every year.
