Yeah, this thread will be a bigger disaster than the Titanic, but I'll give it a shot.

No, the majority of liberals and Obama supporters do not think this. At least not any more so than conservatives think all Obama fans are either minorities or socialists (at least I hope not). There are so many different coalitions in both parties, it's unfair to paint supporters of either Obama or Romney with a broad brush. I try to be optimistic, so I'm going to assume that most Romney supporters are good people who happen to side with Romney more so than Obama on most issues. Most Republicans I know (and I know many) are absolutely amazing people, but political orientation shouldn't be dependent upon this in the first place. Some people are great, others are terrible.

But on the other hand, people who throw these sort of accusations around, while careless, aren't completely out of left field. The GOP gets almost all of their votes for President from white people. I crunched some numbers a while back and found that around 90% of the votes for John McCain came from white voters, while Obama's electoral coalition was much more diverse. Republicans have lost the black vote, the Hispanic vote and the Asian vote and now rely solely on conservative (often older) whites. And when you are so dependent on a single group of people, you end up pandering to them, and ultimately your brand becomes tied to them.

And this also begs the question "Why did the GOP lose the support of so many minority groups so quickly?" It's an unpleasant topic, but if the Republican party wants to remain viable they need to figure out why these once competitive subgroups have strongly aligned against them. They can't blame Obama, or ignorance of the issues, or the "lamestream media", because that only makes it worse. They need to rebuild their brand and that will come from some soul searching.
