I've read the sponsor's intent behind each clause, many seem too restrictive to me - things I don't think the government should be getting involved in. I agree on endangered animals, though I would imagine there is already a law on the book for those. Many of these do not seem to cause harm and the use of them are held for religious reasons; I don't know why we are restricting that just because most in this legislative body may not agree.
The goal of this act is to destroy a market for animal products that are almost solely commodified via poaching. Shark finning, for example, is a major problem. Bear bile extraction is a near tortuous experience for the bear.
The processes for extracting these products are not conducive to a healthy global ecosystem and rely on acts that, if performed in Atlasia, would constitute animal abuse.
