 OOC: I doubt Lieberman would have a fiscally responsible presidency, given that it'd be quite hard to keep Clinton's surpluses going, and he'd probably have even less fiscally conservative instincts than the already atrocious George W. Bush.

But then again, you seem to be hinting at no 9/11, so who knows how it might've gone. Shame too. From my end, Lieberman would be entertaining as a war president, and I can't imagine what other reason he'd be there for. What's the good of writing a Joe Lieberman TL if he's not the one fighting the war on terror?



By 2006, he'd completely worn out his welcome with any of the American Left. I mean really, he'd probably have been better off joining with the Republicans or declaring himself independent. I mean for God's sake, the man was center-right. Not to the extent the Republicans prefer, but definitely too far from the left to count as a Democrat. Have to wonder why someone like him was elected from Connecticut.
