I don't see a refusal to pay the China-imposed fine as a rejection of what the GM says. China can of course demand money but there is no face-saving way that Atlasia with its claim to be the strongest global superpower can yield to such demands.

I absolutely want us to remain within the boundaries set by the GM, of course. That said, accepting to pay fines imposed on us by other nations would be an unheard of humiliation for the Republic of Atlasia and tell the world that we can be successfully blackmailed, which I consider a scenario to be prevented at all costs.

While, as I made clear, I don't support us paying any penalty imposed on us by a foreign power, I'd advise against calling this and similar stories "fake". We might not like their content but the GM and the Deputy GM are doing brilliant work. Thanks to this storyline Atlasia has become more exciting again.
