Why do Justice Dems think any of their candidates can win?

So we should just not run anyone anywhere and blindly vote for some neoliberals that we strongly oppose? Hell no!

If Justice somehow loses in the primary, how much you wanna bet he starts up "Democrats for Jenkins"  Tongue

If Swearingen pulls off the unthinkable and beats Manchin in the primaries, I will literally be the first democrat to switch over for Jenkins after the primaries. These people think that just cause Bernie managed to cream Clinton in the primaries here last year, that they are some sort of powerful and reckoning machine in the state. Meanwhile, many of these voters just held their noses and voted for him to block hillary, with a lot of people who would otherwise vote republican join in the democratic primaries just to try to block her.

There are a lot of West Virginians who used to vote reliably Democratic (and some who even voted for Obama twice) who voted for Trump, thanks to people like you.

Manchin is an unprincipled center right politician and always has been.

Which is why he supports gun control despite being from West Virginia Roll Eyes

That's your criteria, whether he supports Toomey's bill?

Manchin deserves this. It's karma for supporting the Republican rather than the woman who defeated him in the 1996 primary for governor.

lol. Let's not shootourselves  to spite Manchin.

Still bitter about 1996.

I'm not bitter about 1996. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of the calls for party unity. If we don't want to go back so far, Manchin also supported the current Republican governor in the 2016 Democratic primary. Justice was the ultimate DINO, only pretending to be a Democrat for 2 years.

Joe Manchin is one sorry motherf***er. Congratulations on selling your soul to win an election.

What else would you have expected? At this point, it's pretty clear to me that the Democratic Party wants all of its candidates to be in step with every element of the national agenda. Such an agenda will not help them recover the ground that they have lost in places like West Virginia.

Manchin endorsed Hillary in the primary, which wasn't exactly a genius move in WV.

http://wvmetronews.com/2019/01/11/manchin-considering-running-for-governor-again/

That wouldn't be a wise move. He narrowly won reelection to the Senate, and I don't think he would win another statewide race after 2018. He should focus on serving out the remainder of his term. Democrats can't afford to lose his seat.

If he runs and loses, he still holds his seat. If he runs and wins, a special election is held in 2022.

Which Democrats would lose in a landslide, thus costing them that Senate seat two years earlier.

If Trump is President, Democrats *might* be able to win it. But yeah, even if Bernie is President it's probably toast.

Why are you saying 'even' Bernie as if he's somehow super popular in WV?

Least unpopular.
