Germany Legalizes Gay Marriage (June 30, 2017)

LOL, she calls for a vote after finally meeting some gays, and then still votes no? What a moderate hero.

Is this some sort of strange election strategy by Merkel, to have the government vote on SSM, but personally vote nay, and to time it so that it'll have been signed into law but not have taken effect as of the next election?

If this goes through all the way without delay, then Australia would be the last "WHY HAVEN'T YOU DONE THIS ALREADY??" country on my list.

There are definitely others, like Switzerland.

Australia is the odd one out.

They are the only developed English speaking country that hasn't legalized gay marriage.  The others: Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, UK, and US all have.  I guess there is also Northern Ireland which unlike the rest of the UK has not as UK's legalization only applied to England and Wales although Scotland did separately while several of the overseas territories have as well.

Has anyone gotten a gay marriage in the Pitcairn Islands yet? Haha.
