Am I the only person who like Eagleton better?

Eagleton is an epic HP who screwed McGovern over twice. First he anonymously created the "abortion, amnesty, and acid" smear, and then he was a liability on the ticket until McGovern had to replace him. And the party tries to use this election from 45 years ago as a reason why every nominee needs to be all neoliberal all the time.

The irony is that McGovern was a neoliberal himself and he lost because of his perceived social liberalism and his dovishness. The idea that McGovern was a socialist is pure revisionism.

The establishment has decided that he and Mondale must be progressives since they lost badly.
