More from that Rand Paul interview I linked to upthread.....certainly sounds like Paul is not eager to challenge Trump himself in 2020:

I'm really digging this new Rand Paul. A stunning return to form after the 2016 debacle.

The Economist talks to Eric Garcetti about 2020, and the mayor ends up using “O’Malley” as a verb:

Also, he continues to try to play it safe:

But the best part of the story was this cartoon:

I hope using O'Malley as a verb becomes a trend.
Same.

I know Chafee joked about running in 2020, and I'm glad he was just joking because his run in 2016 was embarrassing.
Ironically he was the purest non-interventionist in the race. I could’ve voted for him.

Mark Cuban had previously said there was a 10% chance he'd run for prez in 2020.  Now says it's "10% at the most".  Also says he'd likely run as an Independent, and probably only if the Dems do poorly in the midterms this year:

He keeps changing which party he’s gonna run under. He’s already fatally wounded himself anyway.

Libertarian candidate Adam Kokesh says his top running mate option would by Cynthia McKinney, former Green Party Presidential Nominee.

She's become a Libertarian now. She's also apparently a friend of Roseanne.

Kander running for Kansas City mayor. This effectively removes him from 2020 contention.

I met Gov. Hogan when he was coming back from the National Governor's Association meeting in Santa Fe two or three weeks ago; I was coming home from southern Colorado, and we had the same flight back. It was Southwest so there wasn't assigned seating; I got to sit right behind him (well, I was middle seat of row 6 while he got row 5's window seat). He slept the whole flight so I didn't get to say much other than "good luck on reelection" (he was very nice and wished me good luck in my studies, as I had previously mentioned being a polisci student), but I sat next to the guy who's in charge of getting Hogan's agenda through the assembly.

Bullock came up since he was just made chair of the NGA (Hogan was made vice chair) and I mentioned that I've heard he's going to run in 2020. Mr. Legislative Liaison Guy said "that's what we're hearing" and I asked why Hogan was listening, "does he have any plans for 2020?" The guy just laughed and said "no" flatly.

Also I said that I'm apprehensive about Jealous despite being a Democrat. The guy asked why and I said "because he comes off as kinda an a--hole" and he laughed very loudly mid-flight.

Cool stuff man! Makes me miss 2015, when I was doing "Sanchez-leaks."
