I haven't seen a thread about this yet. Odd.

The latest leak shows just how top diplomats in the Obama Administration feel about certain world leaders - http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/us/Leaked-cables-show-undiplomatic-US-take-on-leaders/articleshow/7007470.cms

Please remember how this Administration was going "restore our credibility and repair our image" in the world. Good job, guys.

And I doubt this really has much of an effect on international relations.

Well, they had Hillary make some phone calls to a number of leaders not too long ago to ease any damage that might be done...

I take it the Bush administration held positive views of them all prior to January 2009 Roll Eyes

What does that have to do with anything? Roll Eyes

The Bush Administration wasn't going around talking about how badly we were perceived and how they were going to change that. Not expecting these comments to be publicized doesn't change the fact that this stuff was said and it doesn't help our image.

I made a point and you know it. Of course, Afleitch tried to pin this on Bush and failed miserably.

The point is that Obama has a very shaky relationship with many of these people when so many expected him to be a hero (especially in Europe). This really doesn't help. Again, there's a reason why Hillary was put on damage control weeks ago.

But Phil, regardless of what politicians in Europe think.....he's still HUGELY popular among average citizens.

That's nice. The latter has zero impact on how he does his job. The former does.

Well, of course. You have to support Obama and Obama's candidates all the time. Such an enlightened group. All about diversity.

Meanwhile, when you interrupt their Obama love session, remind them that Obama supports that mosque in New York City. Maybe that will cause them to reverse their positions on almost literally wanting to ship Muslims out of Europe. Maybe.

If it were reversed though, and America were banning mosques, then you can imagine what their reaction would be.

Oh, without a doubt.

I hope no one thinks this behavior is somehow unique to the U.S. or The Obama Administration.

Nobody has ever seriously suggested that.
