All offices below the state level in California are nonpartisan.

Not in LA and San Fran at least...

Gavin Newsom's party wasn't listed on the ballot (officially). That's the reason Gonzalez did so well.

Interesting if true. I forgot that it's kind of like that in LA, too, since two Democrats (the current Mayor and the former Mayor) faced off in a runoff in the General.

In reality, I have tons of elected officials because I live in a big city so I won't include City row offices or Supreme/Superior Court justices.
