Ok, Hillary wants a "voice" at the convention. Fine. Now she wants to put her name in for nomination. Ok...

But what is this about her calling Obama her "opponent" at an event held about a week ago? Is she serious? Does she think something will happen so that she's seriously considered?

I think this woman has either lost it or she doesn't care about looking like she wants Obama to lose. Causing this type of pre-convention drama certainly doesn't help Obama.

By the way, we Republicans are grateful, Hillary!

It's kind of like how they still call Bill "the President" and John Edwards is still a "senator". What they really mean is former but political people sometimes drop it.

The examples you gave were of honorable titles. "My opponent" doesn't fit.

Sure it does. He was her opponent in the primary. You failed to provide any context, btw, but in any conversation about the primary they would be referred to as opponents.

She was talking about how much has done for her "opponent" since she dropped out. I understand what you're saying but I just don't think it's wise to still mention him as the "opponent" and then go on to entertain the idea of putting your name in for the nomination.

J.J. and Keystone, what exactly, if anything, do you think will happen?

I want it on record so we can evaluate the record in a month or so.

Or is this some amorphous thing that can be neither proved nor disproved?

I'm not saying what I think will happen. I was expecting you to say what you think will happen. This wasn't meant to be a prediction game where we can look back on it and see who was right and who was wrong.

All I'm saying is that if she is serious about this, she can quite possibly cause quite a headache during Obama's time. It certainly wouldn't help him.
