Most parties have an an anti-semite or five lurking in their ranks, and they're not always expelled, unfortunately. Only one party has dozens that always get reinstated and even promoted, no matter how vile they may be.

Recent yougov poll shows Tories 43% and Labour 39%, while another is 41% Conservative and 40% Labour so is this a blip or could it be a trend.  With all the troubles the government is having you would think Labour would have a much bigger lead so it does suggest that while Corbyn does well amongst younger voters he is a liability amongst many.  When I visited Britain I found he is still a turnoff to much of the over 50 crowd so while the party gained a lot under him, he doesn't seem to be able to pull them much beyond the 40% mark.  While its tough to know if a centrist would do better, certainly there seems to be a limit to how much he can grow the party.  Will be interesting though if other polls confirm the trend or if it is just a blip.

I'm not sure, but it feels like it might be more like Kadima than anything - a party formed from a wing within a party to achieve a specific political goal - allow the Gaza pullout to go through in Israel, and prevent Corbyn from getting a majority in the UK. Those can get formed and even have brief electoral success, but they're never sustainable long-term.

I mean, the real answer is surely that Corbyn doesn't care even the tiniest iota about Syria, and speaking the equivalence of a shrug is just a way to deflect and from his perspective hopefully avoid the topic entirely.

lol. Corbyn will be in power and nothing of substantial difference will happen in regards to Israel-Palestine,  Israel will continue to be a settler state oppressing the rights of Palestinians. The west bank will continue to be a poverty-stricken sh!thole and Gaza will continue to be run by religious fanatics as their hospitals and schools get shot at by the Isreali government. Corbyn could flat-out support a one-state solution (which he doesn't btw- he supports a two-state solution 1967 borders- albeit with stupidly supporting the right to return) and nothing would change.
