Not to nitpick, but UT-Rio Grand Valley doesn't exist yet. UT-Pan American and UT-Brownsville are going to consolidate into that institution starting this fall.

University of Texas at Austin Longhorns - Austin, Texas
The flagship public university of Texas.

University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals - San Antonio, Texas
...huh?

Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi Islanders - Corpus Christi, Texas
I tend to forget this exists.

University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners - San Antonio, Texas
Be careful, it's a trap! Kids who want to go to UT-Austin get rejected and then offered the opportunity to attend a satellite UT campus for a year and then transfer to Austin if they meet the GPA requirements. Inevitably they, (1) get sh*tty grades and can't transfer, or (2) decide having to build all their social networks from scratch in Austin isn't worth it and stay where they are. UTSA is more notorious for this phenomenon than the other second-tier UT campuses because the kids in this situation want to go to a school in a decent-sized city (i.e. not Tyler or Brownsville Rio Grande Valley), but not in their parents' backyard (i.e. not Arlington or Dallas).

Texas State University Bobcats - San Marcos, Texas
They get a lot of ex-military people from San Antonio and Killeen. But also a lot of people who couldn't get into UT/A&M but who want to go to a "non-regional" state university that's not in the middle of ing nowhere like Tech is.

Trinity Tigers - San Antonio, Texas
My little bro goes there. Basically a super-tiny liberal arts college where, from what I gather, everyone just smokes a lot of pot.
