The world didn't loose much with his death. Hopefully, stability will continue under Abdullah's rule.

Um, no, they've already announced he will not be attending. That terrorist/dictator loving Chirac will be though.

That "really" wouldn't be a good thing for so many reasons. Do you want another Iran?

No, Saudi Arabia has a monarchy as their head of state, Iran actually puts religious leaders in control of the country. Iran is a theocracy, Saudi Arabia is the UK with the religion's laws enforced.

Except in the UK the monarch has no real power and has a strong elected government, any form of elected government was just placed in Saudi Arabia only last year, and even it has very very little power. And it really does not matter if religious leaders are head of state or not, the result is the same, a theocratic police state in both, might I also point out the new President of Iran is not a religious figure in any way.

Except, Saudi Arabia is not a theocracy. Their leaders do not claim divine right to rule or acknowledge a diety as the head of state. Saudi Arabia is a nation with an established state religion that draws its laws based on that religion. Iran is an actual theocracy that has a head of state that claims to be guided by Allah and rules as such. You like to use theocracy to mean anything related to religion that you don't like.

Theocracy from Websters
1 : government of a state by immediate divine guidance or by officials who are regarded as divinely guided
2 : a state governed by a theocracy

Yet, the monarch of Saudi Arabia is not regarded as the highest religious authority in the nation making the whole declaration of Saudi Arabia as a theocracy invalid.

I've certainly agreed with that. I don't agree with BRTD's extremely broad definition of a theocracy and neither does the dictionary.

If the world worked that way, it'd be great. If you want to pay through the nose for gas, I'm talking 10 bucks a gallon here, he could do that.
