Oh gawd- Mel Lastman? You gotta be kidding. He would end up saying the wrong thing about Africans, and lose the whole continent. When he did that in real life, it didn't help Toronto's bid for the olympics. Plus, I dont think he's in the NDP

yeah I read that Lastman had said some controversial stuff, but in this TL Toronto was a target in 9/11 and Lastman got Guliani-like fame and high regard.  And I meant that the Democratic Party is new at this point (2008).

Oh, I had forgoten by this point. I'm not actually sure of Mel's politics, I'm not from Toronto. I do know he's an insane furniture salesman though
