We raise hands to vote on various measures during church services.

Coincidentally, so do Mormons like myself. Well, okay, it isn't quite voting (for example, its called "sustaining"), but we basically raise our hands in a voting-esque manner to show our support for members of the ward being "called" to various positions. We do the same for the prophet of the church and the apostles. I've never seen someone raise their hand during the "are there any opposed" part, so it's not really a vote.
