I'm inclined to say that the negatives of both men's approach are going to counterbalance those of the other. Pence seems to be low-energy and devoid of facts. Kaine is coming off way too strong. We'll see what happens.

I think Kaine's strategy is to go for broke because he realizes not many people are going to have watched the whole debate. If he goes kitchen sink, there's more of a chance he'll have more strong moments and that they'll be replayed by the media.
