I've always been a strong NDP supporter but I won't be supporting Keesmatt after what she did (or didn't do) for my community when she was in charge of planning.

I've always been a strong NDP supporter but I won't be supporting Keesmatt after what she did (or didn't do) for my community when she was in charge of planning.

Which was?

Lack of any kind of planning despite 30 thousand people moving into a small area.  No rapid transit, no new roads, no community centres, libraries, etc.  Yet on the east end of the city, she spearheaded an impressive (and very expensive) plan, proposing all those thing be built ASAP and before any kind of huge population growth is expected.  She also under-reported numbers for population growth for the area (my opinion) for the ward redraw (although that doesn't matter now after what Ford did), she said the area would only gain 6k people, yet what is currently UC would already put the area above that (and doesn't include what is going to be happening at the Mr. Christie's site).  I can go on..

The Star's endorsement for Morley in Ward 3 is a shock to me.  On the ground in the riding, it feels much more like a Grimes Vs Gough race, and progressive councillor Doucette has endorsed Gough as well.  Morley really doesn't have much of a shot here.  She might be a little more further left learning (or at least that's what I'm being fed by her campaign, I haven't seen that translate on issues).  Would love to see a poll for the area though.

I haven't seen a single Jefferey signs on private properties in the Springdale area (Brampton North, ONDP area held by Kevin Yarde). It's all been for Brown (and one for another candidate, Spo.. something?).  And let me tell you, people in this part of Brampton love putting up election signs (so many for council, trustee, regional council, etc).

That might though get some pushback from Sylvia Jones.  Half the population of her riding lives in Caledon and unlike Mississauga and Brampton, Caledon is still quite rural white so wouldn't make sense to lump it in with a larger suburb.  Perhaps he will just merge Brampton and Mississauga though, that wouldn't surprise me.
