Generally looking at polls in Victoria, Labor are in a better position than the Liberals, whether that equals gains who knows.

The Western Australian Labor Party Executive has just decided to drop openly gay senator Louise Pratt from the top of the Senate ticket and replace her with an anti-gay social conservative in Joe Bullock. If current polling holds up, Labor may struggle to get more than one senator elected from WA.

Clown show.

I can't believe I missed it, but that's disgusting. Labor (including Gillard) need to stop their social conservative pandering; it's been nothing but a hindrance for the party and makes them look like complete tools (which some of them are, obviously). I hope Pratt is reinstated to the top position and not bounced for some union shill. Roll Eyes

It's no surprise, most construction and industry unions are socially conservative.

You really can't take the Lydnhurst result as much because there was no Lib candidate and Hung Vo stole a massive portion of the Asian vote.

This is what I feel as well. The people who live and rely on government support are switching their votes simply because of Abbott's xenophobic messages and the fact that they hate Gillard, I just wish people would stop to think how Abbott will get to a surplus, because I can assure you it won't be by cutting mining subsidies.

This is an incredible shut down of the pro-Liberal bullsh**t that ABC has been spewing our recently. His manner and what he says is spot on, Julia should listen to him.

I don't think Labor would as low as 30 seats, I think they'll fall to 50-40, although it is 100 days away they may scrape a few more together or collapse completely. However, if this really is the end of Labor, it isn't the worst thing is it? For too long Australia has lacked an electable left-wing social/economical party and if Labor truely has such a dire future it paves the way for a new party to be formed.

Libs have recently spent millions I'd say on ads, they were everywhere tonight and they were quite effective.

My parents were happy to vote for KRudd even though their fave Julia got the axe, but they've called it quits and will probably donkey after this PNG sh**t and I don't blame them. Kevin is a BAD WORD!!!!!!!!1111 and this is fecal policy, it's completely unethical and goes against any decent persons moral compass.

That's what people at the event were telling me, it was mainly to do with Refugee policy which Anna has publicly criticised both major parties and called John a hypocrite which he really didn't like.
