turns out it is actually 54.5gb.  most of it is from a single massive torrent siterip of a performer I am fond of, 80% it I have not watched.

That answer was a lot better than I was expecting.

Freedom, I guess, but also dangerous. Not physically of course (hopefully), but I've heard a few stories of guys getting too addicted to it and only being able to get off to it, even when engaging with other people.

Neutral entertainment. Useful when it's needed, but one can't help but feel a bit of shame afterwards.

Regardless of the mental mechanism, I think we can agree that porn has a higher chance of being addicting/compulsive than hand washing.

Which doesn't necessarily make it bad, just like how alcoholics don't mean that alcohol is evil and we should go back to prohibition. But it does make the case for moderation. Everything in moderation is a good motto

The real reason for this isn't anything particularly attractive about pornography, it is that there is something wrong with a society in which it is so difficult for so many males to get sexual intercourse.

I blame Disney movies.  They make every little girl in this country think she's some perfect princess that has to wait for frickin' Prince Charming to come along until she gives herself up.  If we just told them they are decaying bags of meat like everybody else we'd all be getting it in a lot more. 

The attitude expressed in this post contributes far more to you not getting laid than Disney does.

It would be a boon to the people in this world who don't fit into such execrable construct, who outnumber and are as a group morally superior (since undeservedly oppressed, which can be redemptive) to those who do. This particular sort of slavering, bestial sexuality really isn't all that important to most people, or if it is it is so for all the wrong reasons.

I really don't think heterosexual male sexuality as folks like you express it is terribly important in a positive way for most people, unless non-heterosexual-males are discounted as people.

Nathan basically has you in a statistical trap there Opebo. Since heterosexual men are obviously a minority, by definition "most people" don't have hetero male sexuality. The more interesting question is whether most hetero men have the particular type of sexuality in question here. That's not an easy question to answer and the validity of any results depend on to what extent cultural factors can influence someone's sexuality. I am 99% certain that the number of men who are sexual in the way that Opebo and others are describing in this thread is less than usually portrayed in pop culture though.
